If you are unsure as to whether Physiotherapy treatment is suitable for the problem that you have, patients are welcome to call to discuss this with us prior to making an appointment.

Referral Process

It is not always necessary to obtain a doctors referral to have physiotherapy, although most insurance companies do require this.

Fees

48 hours notice is required for cancellation of an appointment or the full fee for a session will be applied.
Full payment is required at the time of each appointment. Receipts for insurance companies are issued after each appointment.

First visit / initial appointment

The initial appointment is usually for one hour which allows adequate time to undertake a full assessment .This involves gaining a detailed history which enables a full understanding of your particular problem and a clinical examination which includes an analysis of your movement. It is then possible to outline the treatment approach, the estimated recovery time and approximate number of appointments that may be necessary. The aims of treatment are agreed between the patient and physiotherapist and are specific to your problem.
For your assessment please bring along something comfortable to wear that you can easily move in, for example shorts, leggings, tracksuit bottoms and a loose T shirt. A sleeveless       t- shirt / vest is useful for assessing neck and shoulder problems.
The Practice has changing facilities and lockers.
Patients who are under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at their initial appointment.
